Load and operating conditions The load is rigid or settles after tensioning, so retained tension matters. The package is light or compressible and can be damaged by high tension. The load has severe sharp edges, abrasion, or extreme-duty securement needs. Rust marks on the product or contact surface are unacceptable. The strap sees hot product or prolonged high-temperature exposure. The existing line is set up for plastic strap and a welded joint. A carrier, rail, vehicle, lifting, or customer rule names an approved securement system.
