Most pallet stretch wrap is built around linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Resin selection, layer design, the cling package and extrusion conditions tune the film for its application. Stretch Film Specification and Gauge Reference
Gauge is a thickness expression, not a load rating. The mathematical relation used here is 100 gauge = 1 mil = 25.4 µm, so 1 gauge = 0.254 µm; trade labels are often rounded and the quoted micron value remains the supply basis.
