How We Selected These PET Strapping Manufacturers

We reviewed official production, product and company information available on September 26, 2026, screening 26 PET strap producers across Asia, Europe, the Americas and Africa. Inclusion requires actual extruded polyester manufacture; distributors, equipment-only sellers and composite strapping businesses without PET extrusion were excluded. Known group brands are consolidated, including PAC Strapping Products within FROMM and Polychem within Greenbridge. “Best for” means an editorial application match based on published capabilities, not comparative laboratory testing.

Its website states ISO 9001:2015 certification and describes internally recycled feedstock supplying PET production. The producer serves various industries; its stated commercial focus is central and southern Africa, making delivery geography a practical consideration for buyers outside that region.
How to Choose a PET Strapping Manufacturer

An industrial strapping supplier and equipment fabricators should match their strapping solutions, closures and accessories to the load. The system’s overall performance will determine the efficacy of unitizing a load with pet strapping. The following eight performance criteria will assist in defining a strapping requirement.
- Consider the load to be strapped. Factor in unit weight, size and strapping pattern. Define strapping needs around the package: PET strapping is used for construction materials and food processing cartons, but the strap must hold the bundle securely under the planned conditions; weather resistance alone does not establish service life. Load and transport conditions, and storage may affect the service life of the strapping. Climate may restrict the service life of the strapping.
- Specify width and thickness together. Include tolerances, linear mass where relevant, coil length and weight. UD’s published PET band options illustrate why a width-only request misses different break strengths. Record whether the surface is smooth or embossed.
- Request minimum breaking force, stated in N; tensile strength in MPa describes material stress. High tensile strength describes the strapping material, not the load. Ask for the test method, sample conditioning and acceptance limit for the strapping material.
- Consider whether the strapping system used provides retained tension which aids in load security after timber, paper or bales settle. A higher laboratory breaking force does not automatically hold a shrinking load securely; test the finished bundle after representative storage and transport.
- Match components based on manufacturer, model number, tension setting, seal method, core dimensions, and coil diameter. Semi-automatic and automatic machines require material assessments, including camber and straightness where strap feeding is involved. Winding and welding behavior affect automatic machine feeding. Check PET strapping machine compatibility with the actual line. A “machine grade” label doesn’t establish compatibility with every strapping machine or other commercial strapping equipment.
- Inspect joints. Approved buckle systems, metal seals, friction welding and heat welding are different joining systems. Use the intended strapping tools during assessment of joint strength and efficiency. Bare strap strength doesn’t represent secured-load strength. Our polyester tool guide covers equipment in relation to strapping.
- Conduct a production trial. Evaluate the strength and reliability of the product and the equipment. Monitor and analyze feeding, tension consistency, splitting, dust, coil tracking, stoppages, joint failures and finished-load stability to evaluate strength and durability. Review the product and site scope of the ISO management certificate, SGS test report and ASTM test method, which serve different purposes.
For recycled PET plastic, determine PCR/PIR content, physical vs. mass balance, and the grade. Green color does not indicate any of the above. “Eco-friendly” does not quantify environmental impact. In what situations can you recycle used strap? Strap is recyclable; however, that does not mean collection for recycling is always economical, so confirm where you can recycle used strap.
- Compare cost per accepted load. Include strap consumption, changeovers, labour, stoppages, failed joints, re-strapping, damage, freight, customs and inventory. The economical quotation is the one that proves cost-effective per accepted pallet or bundle, not simply the lowest kilogram price. Compare wholesale PET strapping manufacturers by landed coil cost, and custom PET strapping manufacturers by the approved dimensions, grade and print requirements. Document the trial using a packaging-change test plan.
FAQ
Which is the best PET strapping manufacturer?
Answer
The best PET strapping manufacturer depends on load type, required breaking force, strapping equipment, joint method, coil format and purchasing volume. UD Packaging offers specification-matched sourcing, Signode publishes several Tenax grades, and FROMM offers wide STARstrap options. Greenbridge’s splice-free machine coils suit another purchasing need. Compare equivalent dimensions and documented operating conditions before deciding which offer fits your plant. A familiar brand name can’t replace a successful trial on your own production line and transport route.
Which PET strapping manufacturer is best for automatic machines?
Answer
The best supplier for an automatic line is one whose machine-grade PET matches that line’s feeding, tensioning and sealing requirements. Mosca, Greenbridge and Linder publish relevant options, with meaningful differences between grades. Compare dimensional consistency, camber, surface, coil winding and weld behaviour under production conditions. Linder’s GreenWave, for example, is a hand-tool grade rather than an automatic-machine choice. Record the actual machine model and coil dimensions in the order; matching strap width alone doesn’t establish reliable automatic operation.
Is PET strapping stronger than PP strapping?
Answer
PET strapping is generally selected for heavier-duty applications where higher strength and retained tension are required, while PP strapping is commonly used for lighter loads. Polypropylene strapping often serves cartons and moderate-duty bundling, but dimensions and grades vary within both materials. Compare the actual breaking force, joint and machine limits of polypropylene and polyester strapping. There’s no universal load-weight boundary between them. Strap count, load shape and transport conditions also affect how the packaging system performs in service.
Can PET strapping replace steel strapping?
Answer
In some applications, yes, but PET strapping isn’t a universal replacement for steel. Heavy loads, heat, sharp edges, rigidity and transport conditions can favour steel strapping. Compare required force, joint performance and retained tension through a documented load trial.
Are Chinese PET strapping manufacturers reliable?
Answer
Some are, but country of origin alone isn’t a sufficient supplier qualification criterion. Assess the actual extrusion facility, dimensional consistency, tensile data, machine fit, lot records and sample performance. Qualification also includes relevant test reports and accurate export documentation.
How much does PET strapping cost?
Answer
PET strapping prices vary with resin input, recycled content, dimensions, tensile grade, coil format, order quantity and destination. Compare equivalent specifications and cost per secured pallet or bundle, including changeovers, failed joints, freight and inventory, rather than kilogram price alone.
Conclusion: Choose Around the Load, Machine and Joint

Across this wide range of industries, PET banding manufacturers supply various coil grades and formats. Prioritize acceptance tests for joints and specify the type of strap and machine. Finally, identify the polyester strapping manufacturers who can meet your needs. Match their products and services to those requirements.
